In the last couple of seasons, sneaker fans have noticed an uptick in brands reaching into the archives for their newest releases. Brands like Nike and Adidas have shown that some of their most popular styles were once relegated to a vault. Now, it’s Brooks Running’s turn to showcase some of their retro favorites. For the new season, Brooks is returning two of its favorite sneakers for a flash from the past.

As part of a recent theme from the athletic brand that has seen the return of several designs, the two returns are perfectly in tune with modern trends. With a mix of retro details and modern technology, these sneakers balance style and comfort. Both styles are easy to add to your closet, although the same applies to many of Brooks’ existing products. For fans of archival designs, this Brooks release is one to watch for the summer season.

The return of the Cascadia 1 and the Chariot

For their S/S25 releases, Brooks Running unveils the Cascadia 1 and the Chariot designs from their archives. The Cascadia 1 was first seen in 2004 and was the brand’s first trail-running shoe. In this new reiteration, the sneaker has gotten a complete color makeover, with two brighter and bolder colorways. Trail-inspired technology, like an upgraded foam and protective rock shield, adds cushion and comfort to the shoe, enabling use in all terrains.

On the other hand, the Chariot was one of the first stability running shoes from the brand and was initially released in 1982. While made as a stability running shoe, this sneaker has made waves on and off the track. Made with real suede leather uppers with EVA cut foam, this sneaker has all the cushion you need. Available in three colorways, this design mimics the look and feel of modern retro sneakers. The Chariot is also available via the Brooks Running website and retails for $100.
