Passing on heavy breads like hamburger rolls or taco shells means you can fill up on nutritious ground beef, leaving more room to get a taste of everything you want. If you’re trying to hit a certain protein macronutrient goal, this meal is perfect for you to focus on filling up protein instead of carbohydrates. Plus, ground beef lettuce wraps are an awesome go-to meal for people on low-carb or ketogenic diets.

What type of lettuce to use

Various types of lettuce

Making ground beef lettuce wraps is simple, but it’s important to select the best type of lettuce to ensure a crunchy, delicious bite. In general, any crisp leafy green makes a great wrap, such as butter lettuce, romaine lettuce, or green leaf lettuce. Ultimately, it comes down to taste preferences when selecting a type of lettuce to use for your recipes. It is important to use fresh lettuce that is not going bad, as already-turning lettuce may become soggy or wet when trying to make wraps.

Ideas for ground beef lettuce wraps

The opportunities for new recipes and flavor creations with ground beef lettuce wraps are endless. Whether you use taco-seasoned beef to make Mexican lettuce tacos or create ground beef Asian lettuce wraps, there’s a world of possibilities that await you! You can also use ground beef to form hamburgers and make bunless cheeseburgers with lettuce wraps in replace of a bun.

Plenty of whiskies pick up cult followings, but few seize the passion of the drinking public like Pappy Van Winkle. The bourbon, from Buffalo Trace Distillery, is so wildly popular that it consistently sells out as soon as it becomes available, and the prices to buy on the secondary market are eye watering. It's such a desirable bottle that people are constantly looking for alternatives, while the original remains something of a holy grail for many collectors.

While there are a number of whiskies that are produced under the Van Winkle name, the one which is the most desirable is the Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve, which comes in three varieties aged for 15, 20, or 23 years. It is this long aging period which makes Pappy so unusual for a bourbon, as most are typically only aged for a few years at most. The aging is part of why it is so difficult to obtain as well, because there is a very limited supply available due to its age.

Keto mac and cheese is the perfect no-guilt comfort food
How to enjoy this favorite food in a new way
Mac and cheese

Mac and cheese serves as a warm, melty, and delicious comfort food for many of us, bringing us back to our childhood in every bite. While our younger selves didn't give too much thought to every bite of mac and cheese, today we might find that mac and cheese feels a bit too heavy or carby to digest. Yet, we don't have to say goodbye to this amazing comfort food. Low-carb dieters and those on a ketogenic diet can still enjoy mac and cheese in a new form: keto mac and cheese. Here's why keto mac and cheese is the perfect no-guilt comfort food.
Why you need keto mac and cheese

Traditional mac and cheese noodles or pasta are too high in carbs for a low-carb, high-fat diet such as the keto diet. On average, one cup of mac and cheese contains a hefty 44 grams of carbs. While this can vary depending on the type of mac and cheese, it's still too many carbs for a low-carb diet, no matter how you make it. Plus, even for those not watching carbs, overeating mac and cheese can leave you feeling tired and sluggish.
Low-carb keto mac and cheese alternatives can be made in a variety of ways, often using cauliflower as a base. Cauliflower serves as a great base because it is low in carbs, high in fiber, and has a very mild taste. The mild taste of cauliflower makes it excellent for absorbing the taste of other ingredients, such as the cheese or bacon you may add to a mac and cheese dish. For those who don't love cauliflower, other variations of keto mac and cheese include using pre-packaged keto pasta or noodles or using zucchini noodles.
