As the temperatures begin to rise, there is one thing all men are aware of when it comes to wearing clothing. We've all been down that road before; dealing with an annoying (and embarrassing) case of the swamp crotch, which is mostly caused by excess heat, eating too many processed foods, and drinking too much caffeine or alcohol. Of course, there are people with hyperhidrosis — overactive sweat glands — but for most of us, it’s as simple as scorching temperatures, we’re wearing too many layers, and possibly, the after-effects of finishing a grueling workout.

The problem is, just as bacteria and fungus grow in your underarms and contribute to odor, they can also grow down south, making things smell and itch. Luckily, we have solutions for you! Below, we round up some of our favorite ways to help you get fresh balls, from powder to long-lasting deodorant and shaving cream. Even better, most of these products work just as well for the rest of your body, too.

Panasonic Cordless Electric Body Groomer for Men ER-GK60-S

One way to keep the swamp under control is with regular manscaping. While there are plenty of novelty trimmers marketed for your groin area, our favorite has to be Panasonic's body groomer, which easily mows through the curves and crevices of your... um... nether regions with ease and without any nicks. This handy device also includes two attachments to adjust your desired hair length, and it works just as effectively in trimming other body hair. We love a good multitasker.

How to prevent swamp crotch

Here are some general tips to help you prevent swamp crotch and the discomfort in that area (other than using the products above).

The first is hygiene and clothing. Opt for underwear and pants made from natural materials like cotton or moisture-wicking fabrics. Avoid tight-fitting clothes and synthetic materials that trap heat and moisture. Also, use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser to wash the genital area, avoiding harsh soaps or scrubbing. Pat dry thoroughly with a clean towel.

Some other preventative measures may include managing weight, because being overweight can contribute to increased sweating in the groin area. Also, be mindful of your hydration and drink plenty of water throughout the day, which helps regulate body temperature and reduce overall sweating.

You can also reduce friction by avoiding activities that cause friction in the groin area, such as chafing during exercise. Lubricants or anti-chafing balms can help. Lastly, limiting salty foods and alcohol can help reduce bloating and sweating.

Regardless if the temperatures are sweltering during midsummer or it is the middle of winter, having the proper grooming products and underwear can help you avoid swamp crotch. Our list has everything to help you stay dry and comfortable downstairs, all day and year round.

Do you really need a lightweight moisturizer? Dermatologists shared the truth
Man in a bathrobe washing his face

As the weather warms, you may dream of cake by the ocean. Caked-on skincare products? No thanks. Often, people switch to lightweight moisturizers in the warmer months. Dermatologists understand why and don't think making this summer skincare switch is a problem to fix.

"Typically, the summer months are more humid and less dry, so a lighter-based moisturizer may be preferred by most," said Dr. Rosanne Paul, DO, an assistant professor of dermatology at Case Western Reserve University.

SkyOrganics debuts two new haircare products for curls
Manage your curls and help the environment with these SkyOrganics products
SkyOrganics Shea Butter

Launched with Earth Month in mind, Sky Organics is releasing two  new, certified-organic haircare products specially designed for those with curly hair need who need high-quality scalp care as well.
The first is Organic Shea & Babassu Moisture Butter, and the second is Organic Castor Oil with Rosemary Oil. Both products have unique ingredients to help you handle your curls that are well worth a closer look.
Shea butter is a familiar ingredient in the skin and hair care world,  and the less well-known babassu oil is a hydrator that helps keep curls stronger and frizz-free. This product also includes virgin coconut oil, sunflower oil, beeswax, vitamin E, and orange peel oil, with all ingredients certified organic.
The shea butter is also versatile. It can be used on damp or dry hair, functioning as a re-hydrator or pre-shampoo in the latter scenario. In addition, it’s designed for all curl styles, including mini-twists and braids. Patch test is recommended before first use.
The castor oil-based product is a strengthener. It’s a pure, hexane-free oil blend that helps nourish the scalp and fortifies individual strands, with rosemary added to nourish the scalp. It also includes peppermint oil to revitalize and refresh, and once again all ingredients are certified organic. This blend is specially designed to help provide end care as well.
Both products are made with sustainably-sourced ingredients, and they’re 100% recyclable. Pricing is friendly and under $20 for both products, with the shea/babassu butter proceed at $17.99, while the castor/rosemary oil blend positioned at $15.99. Introduced at the beginning of April, these products are available via skyorganics.com, amazon.com, and walmart.com.

Fade cut for men: Yay or nay? Here's what barbers think
close up of man with fade cut

Quick: What do David Beckham, Zayn Malik, Chris Hemsworth, and Will Smith have in common? Besides having recognizable names and faces, the four men are among the many who have sported a fade cut for men in recent years. The haircuts are recognizable but in a know-it-when-you-see-it kind of way. What is a fade cut?
"A fade is a fresh cut where your hair gradually blends from longer on top to super short or skin on the sides and back," said Joshua Meekins, aka Meet The Barber, who works with RED by Kiss and RED Pro and is the trusted barber for NFL star, Jalen Hurts. "It’s clean, sharp, and very versatile."
As with any hairstyle, including a classic crew to embracing no hair at all, opting to get a fade cut is about more than hopping on a trend bandwagon. Fads come and go, but the Instagram photos are forever.

Will a fade cut for men work for you? Barbers cut to the chase and discussed the do's and don'ts of fade cuts for men.
